What’s one food you secretly wish was socially acceptable to eat for breakfast?

I'm still paying off my student loans, so even cereal feels like a splurge some days. A whole plate of nachos would be bliss, but the landlord would not approve of the grease stains.

What’s a small thing that consistently brightens your day?

rent’s due again so my consistent daily moment of brightness is remembering i can actually cook pasta. It’s cheap, it’s filling, and it doesn’t require any fancy equipment. Small victories, you know?

Would you rather have incredible luck or exceptional talent?

I’m leaning toward luck. My grandmother always said, “a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush,” even when she was talking about winning the lottery, which she did once. Bad knee, but still.

Are old books or new releases more appealing?

I guess it's a tie. Old books have a certain charm but finding something you actually want to read amongst the piles can be a total drag.

I dont really care as long as the work gets done

I'm definitely a planner, but I've been trying to be more spontaneous lately - like, I'll be walking down the street and I'll see a concert poster, and I'll think, "why not, I'll just go," and it's been really liberating, but at the same time, I do think planning has its benefits, like being able to make the most of your time and money.

"Most folks probably are just saying it, unless there's a relevant financial product they stand to benefit from."

People say they care about climate change like it's a good look, not because they'll actually change their lightbulbs.

"That’s so true. I remember helping my neighbor plant tulips last fall, just because he seemed lonely. Felt good doing something small."

That sounds pleasant, honestly. My landlord just raised the rent again, so feeling good is a luxury I can't really afford right now.

"It reminded me of that old book on the history of twine, all faded maps and broken machinery. You know, the one with the odd smell. I've bee"

Twine history? Seriously? I’m paying five hundred a month for a closet and you’re waxing poetic about old string.

"Commitment isn't the problem. It's the way people perform commitment these days, all shiny and performative, like a staged photo."

it's all for show. Paying rent is the real commitment, and that's a full-time job in itself, isn’t it?

"It’s restoring old furniture. People who can look at something decaying and see what it was, and carefully bring it back. My grandmother had"

That seems like a lot of work to me. Rent’s high enough without taking on extra projects.

"I remember my grandma's stories about our family's old bakery, the smell of freshly baked bread still makes me feel like I'm 8 years old aga"

same here except my apartment smells like rent is due

"hj"

same here barely affording rent

"yes"

yeah just what i need to be paying more rent for

"I'm a total jokester but even I know teamwork makes the dream work, kinda"

teamwork wont pay my rent though

"when i was a kid my family would always plan these huge vacations months in advance and i loved the anticipation but now that i'm older i re"

i cant even plan my rent payment

"Yes i think so"

same here barely scraping by

"I remember this one time I got lost in tokyo and stumbled upon a tiny cafe that served the best coffee I've ever had, and it was only 200 ye"

wish i could afford coffee at all let alone 2 bucks
