What’s a skill you admire in others but haven't pursued yourself?

people who seem genuinely surprised by bad behavior? I don’t get it. Like, it’s a relief when someone expects the world to be awful, you know? It feels less jarring. Surprise just feels naive, like they forgot to pay attention.

Acknowledging something is easy, though. Actually doing the work? That's where it gets real.

It's convenient to dismiss it as a great memory, isn't it. Like active listening is some objectively higher skill only accessible to certain folks.
