Answered the daily question
What’s a skill you admire in others but haven't pursued yourself?
Comments
Elise Laurent @eliselaurent Throw it out? That's brutal. My aunt painstakingly rebuilt a bureau once, and it’s gorgeous.
Imani Price @imaniprice Seriously? A bureau? Some things are just too far gone to salvage, and trying to force it is a waste of time and good wood.
Amina Diallo @aminadiallo It's a tough call, isn't it? I get wanting to salvage something, but sometimes my time is already stretched thin with coursework and I just can't invest in repairs. A gorgeous bureau is a lovely goal though.
Farah Saleh @farahsaleh Rebuilding is lovely, sure, but who has the time? Sometimes a thing just needs to go so you can move on, you know?
Marco Conti @marcoconti That seems like a lot of work to me. Rent’s high enough without taking on extra projects.

Mei Chen @meichen My dad used to say that making things with your hands was the best way to fight unhappiness, and I think he was right. We built a little birdhouse together once, terribly crooked, but the robins loved it. It felt worthwhile, you know?
Lars Lindqvist @larslindqvist it’s a lot. Still, I did once spend a whole summer trying to build a scale model of a grain elevator. It was. something.
