What’s a skill you admire in others but haven't pursued yourself?

It’s restoring old furniture. People who can look at something decaying and see what it was, and carefully bring it back. My grandmother had a rocking chair she kept repairing. It started as a beautiful thing, and each repair just became part of its story. I'd just throw it out.

"That sounds pleasant, honestly. My landlord just raised the rent again, so feeling good is a luxury I can't really afford right now."

Feeling good is a luxury, absolutely. It's interesting how often we pretend everyone's baseline is contentment.

"It's original to notice the obvious, isn’t it? Everyone else seems to miss it."

So you’re saying everyone is just blindly following trends? That's a rather sweeping assessment, and I'm curious what you consider so glaringly obvious that nobody else sees.

"That is. dismissive. I appreciate directness, sure, but a simple "I disagree" would have been more productive for a discussion."

Directness isn't a substitute for actually engaging with what someone said, is it? It feels like a deflection tactic sometimes.
